Edible Imaging and Design Deconstructed

So what do you mean by edible imaging and design on a cookie?
The first time I ever heard of it was from Sweetopia
when she used this process (see the cookies below) on The TomKat's printables...
(that's  The TomKat's  actual printables on the cookies)

I never really thought more about it until now...
With the world of printables...
why not use those precious graphics on cookies to further accent your party?
I have invested in the tools to do it...
an edible printer, edible ink and edible icing sheets (in which to print the image on)...
I still use Sweet Goosie Girl's delicious cookies & frosting...
the image just slides on top of the frosting...
I add a pretty border with more decadent frosting...
and voila'...
All you have to do is provide the graphics you want to use...
Let's look at a preppy invite that we may or may not use
for Goosie Girl's upcoming birthday...
Since I want to focus on the orange & black...
I could take the witch with the orange/white striped stockings...
and add it to a small round cookie (2.5") to accent my dessert table...
(this is the actual image that would be on the cookie)
Can't you just see this festive sweet amongst all the goodies?
How about a personalized cookie favor to send home with the girls...
This exact image on a square cookie (3.5"), in a cello bag and tied with a bow...
Preppy preciousness!
Isn't it awesome?!
That's just it!
The possibilities are endless...
I love how you can personalize everything...
Even the invitation could be put on a cookie...
that's the fabulous thing about it...
Everything and anything can be put on one of Sweet Goosie Girl's delicious cookies!
I'm SO excited!

Green Milk Bottle Cookies

I am absolutely loving these milk bottles in green...
and they go so nicely with the navy...
Preppy & pretty...
I can't wait to share what Sweet Goosie Girl is getting ready to start offering...
I feel like God let the cookie orders stop for a moment so I could hear him..
(and when I say stop...I mean stopped...which is a little scary...)
And now I am SO excited...
Thanks God for blessing me with an amazing idea!
Here's to a Wednesday filled with thankfulness!

Weekend Diary

Aren't weekends just the best...
A time to slow down, recharge & just enjoy...
Well that's exactly what Sweet Goosie Girl did...

Friday afternoon we dropped Goosie Girl & the Spooky dog off at the grandparents...
Then the hub & I were off to a weekend at the beach...
We stopped for dinner at our favorite place...
And on Saturday it was all about sleeping late
and enjoying sun & fun on our favorite island...
Intercoastal on one side...walk to the other side...and voila'...Gulf of Mexico...
Yesterday, it was time to come home and get ready for the week...
Until next time...

Sweet Friday - Anchor Cookies

There is nothing sweeter for a Friday than cookies that:
1.  are going to a Naval officer
2.  are sent from his girlfriend for his birthday
3.  are anchors
I'm loving the yellow background...usually they're done in white...
I can't believe how the navy looks so different on the yellow...
I hope Chief Misner enjoys his sweet treats...
What's on your agenda this weekend?
I hope to do a lot of this...

and enjoy a bit of this...

Here's to a weekend filled with relaxation!

Polaroid Camera Cookies

Now here's a blast from the past...
Polaroid cameras...
Who remembers these?
The way the picture would emerge from the front of the camera...
and then you'd have to wait for the image to magically appear...
I thought that was the coolest!
When I was making these, Goosie Girl came in and asked what these were...
I told her and she preceded to tell me that I was weird and then walked out...
You just gotta love an almost 13 year old!
Here's to a day filled with all of your favorite blasts from the past!

Pretty Pumpkins

Pumpkins sure have come a long way...
When I was growing up, the only decoration on a pumpkin was when you carved it...
Now look...they're like accessories...
And I must say...I like them much better!
It's quite simple to add a little bling to your orange gourd...
paint, tape & perhaps a little glitter...

Even Lilly has a pumpkin...
(with a little help from decoupage)...

Here's to a Tuesday filled with pretty pumpkins!

Navy/Pink Cookie Preppiness

There is nothing like starting the weekend with a little preppiness...
especially when the colors happen to be that of Sweet Goosie Girl's...
Navy & Pink...
I just adore this color combo...
so crisp & clean yet can be paired nicely with a range of others...
I've had a navy & pink last few days...
First with nautical sea life...
and then with ice cream...
My favorite is this preppy little gator...
he's just so cute!
and let's add some other fun accessories to these sweet treats...
I'd like to prance around in these...
I have fancied this since the moment I laid eyes on it...
gwendolynjeannine:

my daughter will have this.
and finally this dress...S-W-O-O-N-I-N-G!

Enjoy a colorful weekend!

Pumpkin Pail Cookies

As much as things are always changing...
it's nice to see that some things stay the same...
Like the plastic pumpkin pail...
You can still find these at any store you pop in to...
They exude that nostalgia that brings you back to your childhood...
Jennifer at Double the Fun Parties asked if I could create
the traditional pumpkin pail on a cookie for a photo shoot she was having...
This is the festive pretty I came up with...
Happy little things aren't they?!
I can't wait to see pictures...she is quite the amazing stylist!

Banana Bread Recipe

Years and years ago I worked at a place
where Friday's would be breakfast day...
There was a schedule where 2 or 3 people would make and/or bring in breakfast dishes
for our floor to enjoy...
It was a nice ending to the week...
A lot of the recipes that are still my favorites
came from there...
Such as this banana bread...
You want to talk about a recipe that is super easy yet super yummy...
this is it...
You can make large loaves or small ones...whichever you fancy...
Take a peek at how easy this is...

Ingredients:
2 cups Bisquick
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/3 cup milk
2 bananas mashed (the browner the better)
1/8 cup chocolate chips
---------------------------------------
Directions:
In a large bowl mix (with a whisk) all the dry ingredients
Add the eggs - mix
Add the milk - mix
Add the bananas - mix
Add the chocolate chips - mix
Pour into greased loaf pans
Bake at 350 for about 30-35 minutes (mine takes 30 minutes)
Let cool

And that's it...told you it was simple...
Enjoy!

Red, White & Blue

Since it is September 11th...
Some red, white & blue is definitely in order...
These anchors that I made are quite patriotic...
and I love this free printable from Eye Candy Designs...

Cheers to the USA!

Quality > Quantity

I know it has been quiet lately on the Sweet Goosie Girl blogging scene...
It seems that there has not been enough time in the day lately...
However, I am working on changing that...
Blogging is one of the things that I love most!
I was going to post a recipe today...
However, as you will see, something has been catching my eye and weighing on my mind...
Rather than trying to do it all...
I want to set my standards high...
and do the things that matter, that I love and that I'm good at...
I had grandeur images of working at home...
Of course baking/designing cookies...
but also creative computer time...perhaps at Starbucks...
a perfectly straightened house...wash all caught up...
having everything done by the time Goosie Girl gets home from school...
and what I'm finding is none of the above is happening...
So rather than complaining...
I'm working on how I can improve...
The world tells me that busier is better...
wanagrace:

Keep Busy.. Yes.. I am trying to keep my self busy not to remember anything, everything!
Bigger is better...
But I know differently...
Who says I have do what everyone else is doing?
I want boutique...
Selective and sought after (borrowed from the wonderful Emily Ley)...
Who says I can't be that?
Quality over quantity...
It's all a work in progress isn't it?!
Cheers to a Monday filled with being mindful!
