Princess Cookies

These royal cookies that I made really got me thinking...
I know that I have mentioned this before...
I want to be a princess when I grow up...

and can invite all their princess friends over...

Sweet Friday

I am glad that it is Friday...

But I am SO tired from our field trip yesterday

that all I'd like to do today is lay in bed, drink coffee, read magazines and nap...

Sounds pretty good doesn't it...

But instead I'll be going to school & teaching

and then I will be coming to home to start on 8 dozen cookies...

6 dozen of these soccer spiffies...

and 2 dozen of these sparkly crowns...

I am so blessed to have orders

but cannot wait to stop working two jobs...

What's getting me through is this verse...

Field Trip

The entire 6th grade (all 414 of us) is taking a field trip today

to Sea World...

Goosie Girl is so excited that I am chaperoning and we've got our group ready...

Field trips are always long days but at least tomorrow is Friday...

It also helped that I got a pedicure & manicure last night...

Wishing I could I wear something cute like this...

instead of my school t-shirt...
I'll put this aside for next year when I'm a parent chaperone
instead of a teacher chaperone...

Pimp Your Drink

Aren't drinks a bit better when you add a fun little component to them?

For instance...water...

It's definitely more delicious with a twist of lemon or lime...

How about champagne...

(okay...it's absolutely superb on its own)

but it's also quite divine with some freshness...

What about lemonade?

I actually love a splash of orange juice in mine...
Perhaps a mojito?

Raspberries and basil might be just the recipe the doctor ordered...

Summer Dressing

Summer is right around the corner...

(17 school days to be exact)

With the Florida heat to contend with...

dressing can be a bit of a challenge...

My go-to outfit of choice is a dress and/or long skirt...

They are easy, peasy, lemon squeezy...

Cool & comfortable yet effortless...

(and they usually don't require ironing)

Throw on a fun necklace or a bracelet 

and you have instant chicness...

Teacher Appreciation Cookies

You do know it was Teacher Appreciation this week...

Teachers are bit like superheroes...

They morph into different roles depending upon the situation...

Trust me...I know...

I made this sweet little basket full of cookies

for a friend's daughter to take to her teacher to show her appreciation...

I love these little fruit boxes that I found on Etsy...

I wrapped everything up and tied with a polka bow...

A Strawberry Cookie

Here is just a quick pic of a strawberry cookie that is going out today...

But it so gets me in the mood for summer...

Did I mention that I have 20 school days left...

Science Beaker Cookies

Science was never my best subject at school...

But these beakers would have probably helped my grade out...

These are favors for a college science grad...

and the colors coordinate with The Celebration Shoppe's science printables...

These are definitely not toxic...

Preppy Pink & Green Whale Cookies

What could be happier than pink & green preppy whales?

These fit right in to my nautical weekend...

It was my hub's birthday and his request was that we go on the boat

as a family to our favorite island to splash & play...

When we got back to the dock...Goosie Girl, the inlaws and the dogs

went home while we were finishing up...

My part was done so I went to go sit on a floating dock 

to watch the manatees playing in the water...

I had my feet lightly splashing in the water

and lo and behold this giant, gentle sea cow came up to me...

Had I not been so startled, I could have reached out and pet it...

that's how close it was...

I was in awe of this creature...a manatee...an endangered species...

coming right up to me...it was amazing...

one of God's magical creatures just coming to check me out...

(Next time I'm bringing lettuce with me)...

I felt fully present and thankful for all of my blessings

at that point...

So you can see why these sweet little whales are right up my alley...

Making Things Happen Today

Guess what today is...

That's right...

the Making Things Happen Intensive...

A fellow teacher asked me today why I need a motivational conference...

It stopped me in my tracks and made me think...

Why do I need this?

I need this because it's time to motivate...

I need this because I haven't been living up to God's potential for me...

I need this because I haven't been surrounding myself with people of the same passion...

I need this because I haven't had the passion for a while...

and now...

it's time...

Time to rock and roll and get fired up...

Time to live up to my potential 

and surround myself with pretty and delicious each day...

Who says I can't?

Minnie Mouse Cookies and a Motto

My motto with most things is

I tend to run into trouble when I don't follow this...

especially cookies...

I kept these Minnie's simple...

and I think they turned out spectacular...
