Soccer Cookies

It was our snack day this past Saturday
for Goosie Girl's soccer team...
I ordered white gable boxes from The TomKat Studio...
designed a label in our team colors...
and tied it up with a bow...
Inside I tucked in some healthy apples with caramel...
a gatorade with the same coordinating label...
and these sweet cookie treats...
The girls loved them...
An easy & inexpensive way to jazz up snacks...

Books - EntreLeadership by Dave Ramsey

Yes...
Another book...
This one too was on my reading list and I received it with Amy Atlas's...
You know reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body...
(You can totally tell I'm a reading teacher with that statement...lol)
but it's true...I've been trying to soak up as much information as I can
as I get ready to start Sweet Goosie Girl full time...
Why wouldn't I?
It's important to fill your mind with the right kind of knowledge...
and to ponder on those things that can motivate you internally as well as externally...
And I'm loving how this book is biblically based...

So what is on your reading list?  Do share!

Books - Sweet Designs by Amy Atlas

Everyone is talking about it...
Have you gotten your copy?
I received mine yesterday in the mail...I was so excited...
I went through and devoured every page...
You know this is the bible of dessert table creating...
Not only is every page filled with beautiful eyecandy...
but it also has detailed instructions on how you can achieve the sweet looks too...
Don't be intimidated...
You can definitely do this...it just takes a little practice...
So what are you waiting for?
Go order it here and take a gander...
You'll be ready to create your own fabulous table!
Cheers and happy party planning!

Making Things Happen

I am so ready to make it happen...
What is "it" you ask?
"It" is everything my life encompasses...God, family, friends, Sweet Goosie Girl, living, celebrations, creativity and the list goes on and on...
I'm counting down minutes until I head to Atlanta
for the Making Things Happen workshop next Thursday...
I don't want to be someone who always wishes they would have had the courage
to do so and so...
I'm excited to be among a group of individuals of the same mindset
who are ready to set the world on fire with motivation and passion...
It's been a long time since I've felt this old spark and I'm glad to see it coming back to life...

As Ferris Bueller so eloquently put it...

Let's go!  Are you ready?!

You use lemons on a boat right...
As a delicious addition to your cocktail I believe...

Sweet Friday - Frozen Orange Cocktail

So this past week I have had FCAT
(the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test) at school...
When the students weren't testing, they had to be kept quiet
as other rooms around us were testing so it was movies, movies, movies for us...
While they were watching,
I was perusing inspiring party girl blogs (the ones I wasn't blocked from)...
I stumbled across Ashley Brooke Designs who is a fabulous artist/designer...
Have you visited with her?  You really should...She's very talented...
I think I about read every post she's written
and when I came across a Margarita recipe that her mother in law is known for...
Well...that got me thinking...
since yesterday was the last day of testing...
I thought it was most appropriate for a celebration...
So I stopped by the store on the way home
for some tasty ingredients like rum, triple sec, etc.
And I whipped up a tasty variation of her recipe...
It is so yummy and refreshing...
Perhaps you'd like to give it a try this weekend...
All you need is:
6 ounces Rum (her recipe calls for Tequila)
4 ounces Triple Sec
12 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate (her recipe calls for frozen limeade)
6 ounces water
ice to your favorite consistency
mix all in blender...
pour in your favorite glass (if I had more time I would have sugared the rim )
garnish with a squeeze & slice of fresh orange...
add your favorite stripey straw...
and sip up!
Cheers!

Gifts - Book Basket

I just love this idea for a gift...
Sweet and simple...
365_111
A gift basket of books...
This could be perfect for so many occasions...
Packaged in a sweet vessel (and perhaps tuck a gift card in with) and voila'...
I think it would be neat for:
A book club member...
A college graduate teacher-to-be...
each invited guest brings their favorite
to help start the teacher-to-be's classroom library...
A classroom teacher...
have all the students bring their favorite pleasure reading book
for their teacher's classroom library...
I adore gift baskets...so fun, festive and full of wonder...
Remember...Teacher appreciation is coming up...

Flower Picture Frames

I was perusing through some old Goosie Girl posts
and came across this idea which I still love...
Flower picture frames...

What's so wonderful about them besides their preciousness
is that they are super easy to make...

All you need is a frame of your choice...a mat (more like scrapbook paper)
flowers...hot glue...and any other embellishment you'd like to add...

These would be perfect for a multitude of things...
a nursery, an office, a backdrop for a dessert table, a gift, favors,
place settings (make a mini version)...
Happy Crafting!

Tuesday's Thoughts

I'm off to school...
carefree
We are taking our big standarized test, the FCAT this week...
Today, my class has no testing but we have to be quiet
because other classes around us are testing...
So that means...
Elementary School - movie days!
all day...YAY me!
I'm going to do some Sweet Goosie Girl work...
notebooks...
What about you?  What are you doing today?

Anchor Cookie Wedding Favors

Oh. My. Goodness.
These little pretties about did me in...
Not the cookies themselves but the having to work two jobs part...
These still were a big order but if I hadn't had school to contend with...
they would have been a breeze...
(note to self...only 36 more school days and then no more...only Sweet Goosie Girl)
I truly feel for people who work more than one job!
I was getting up extra early...decorating for an hour or so before school...
going to school and teaching all day...
and then coming home and working until 9:00 or so each night...
Sorry...I'm whining...
Who cares now!  I'm done!  YAY!
And they turned out perfectly!
.
You can't appreciate the gold luster dust on the dots but it's very pretty in person...
They have a classy metallic sheen...
They are all packaged up and nestled in their box...
(or should I say boxes)
waiting to be snuggled in yet another box for their journey...
Anchors Away!
Best wishes to Kassen!
Thank you for letting Sweet Goosie Girl be a part of your special day!

Wednesday

good morning
It's back to school after being off "sick" (wink, wink) for the past two days...
I don't want to go though...
school sucks
If I was off today too, I could get all my cookies done...

Cookie Preparations

As I have been mentioning...
I have a very large order of cookies (300) to make, decorate, package and send out...
This is my largest order to date and hopefully the first of many...
tumblr_lxp9c5OL291qlehr3o1_r1_1280
I tried to be very organized in the preparation to be as efficient as possible...
First I lined all my pans with parchment...
(I love my little cookie rack...such a good investment)
Then I moved on to the ingredients...
I learned from some fabulous cookie guru (although I can't recall which one)
to assemble your drys together in a ziplock so they are ready to go...
I can't tell you what a help that is...
I then pour it into my trusty, favorite blue bowl...
I also love to have a bowl to crack my eggs into...
and a bowl for my extracts...
plus I move my garbage can right beside me so I can ditch items as I go...
My sweet Spooky came to check on me...
saw I was doing fine and went to rest on the back of the couch
where he knows he's not suppose to be...
Once all my dough was made it was on to rolling out...
(which is good upper body exercise...I'm sore today)...
I like to roll my dough out in between two sheets of parchment
and this little flour shaker that I purchased at an antique shop has been a godsend...
And then...voila...the finished products...
60 little pretties are in tupperware because this rack only holds 240...
And there you have it...
Did you notice my bouquet of tulips that are in every pic...
Left over from Easter and they were too pretty not to share...
The decorating starts today...

Photography Cookies

I was contacted by the amazingly talented photographer LeAnna Fisher
to possibly team up...
(how exciting!)
Vintage Cameras in Shop Window, home decor, wall art, 5x5 fine art photo
and help her show gratitude to her clients...
Vintage Pixie Camera Thank You Cards and Sticker Set
by sending them a little gift of cookies...
This is a sampling of what I came up with using her logo...
Cookies are perfect way to say thank you...
Who doesn't love sweet treats?!
