Sweet Friday - A Patriotic Jean Tablescape

Nothing is more patriotic than red, white, blue and...jeans...
Jeans are an american staple, right?
So why not incorporate them into your tablescape too...
I love how The Style Sisters took and old pair of 501's
and turned them into fabulous eyecandy by lining a cake platter with the waist
and using the pockets as a silverware holder...

Talk about getting your money's worth...I'd say they completely accomplished that!
Not to mention that it's simple and adorable...I just love it!

So go get that old pair that you never wear and start cutting...
I think I might like a little bedazzle on there too...
Cheers to a happy weekend filled with all of your favorites!

A Poppy Birthday Party

This poppy party caught my eye
while I was visiting On To Baby...
It was designed and styled by Brandy Rammel...
I just love the color combo...the reddy pink poppies and the stark black and white...
It's absolutely fabulous!
And how about these desserts...
all in matching fashion, of course...

You know all of these poppies were handmade with paper...

The drink station...

and finally the sweet birthday girl...
I love how her highchair is black too...

Pop over here to see more precious eyecandy...

Summertime

It has been a whirlwind since school ended...
Not in a bad way...just busy...
As soon as school was out, I had a large order of cookies to get out...
Then we went on a vacation with my family to the beach...
Came home for a day to repack...
and then drove to Nashville for a family reunion with my hub's side...

Looking for a tasty appetizer to serve this weekend?
How about Fried Pickles?
They're actually broiled...not fried...but ssshhh...I won't tell if you won't...
I made them last night as a little treat before dinner...
and not only were they scarfed down but they got rave reviews...
Click here to download your copy of the recipe...
Cheers to a happy weekend!

Wine Ice Mold

For years I have had my eye on trying to create this...
However, I never got around to doing it
because it always seemed a little to complex...
and I never had the necessary items, for construction, on hand...
Until now...
Thanks to Williams Sonoma, there's an easy and inexpensive way
to create this beauty...
(and let's give a shout out to The Party Dress for showing me this little gem)...

Make an investment of $29.95 for the mold...
(think how many times you'll use it)...
Add your favorite fruit slices, water and freeze...
Think how impressed your guests will be...
Order yours here...
Cheers!

Preppy Whale Cookies

A gentleman contacted me via Etsy
asking if I could make my preppy whale cookies
for a gift bag he was putting together...
(I'm guessing for his significant other)...
I was rather impressed...
I don't think my hub would know even how to spell Etsy
let alone go searching for preppy whales...
Cheers to you sir!

Mickey Mouse Cookies

How fun is this...
A customer contacted me and said that she was taking
her family to Walt Disney World and asked if I could make some Mickey cookies,
and have them sent to their hotel, for them to nibble on while they were there...
She also asked if she could have them personalized with her grandson's name...
Well of course...
I even went with the Disney font...
I hope that they have a fantastic time...
After all it is "the happiest place on Earth!"

Sweet Friday - A Sweet Peach Paperie Nautical Party

This party is the perfect ending to a fabulous week...

I have become a lover of all things nautical and this is no exception...
did an amazing job designing and styling this precious preppy party...
If you've never visited her, you really should...
She is just the sweetest thing and beautiful too...
I absolutely adore her work...
and what's funny is that many of my cookies coordinate with her products...

So when she asked if I could make my navy & pink anchor cookies
for her daughter's birthday party...
I jumped all over it...what an honor!
And as you can see, she executed everything perfectly...

You definitely should take a field trip over to her site...say hello...look around...
You will LOVE her!

Cheers to a weekend full of all your favorites!

Flag Banner (Bunting) Cookies

In honor of Flag Day...
I thought it would be most appropriate to share these flag banner cookies...
These pretties were made to be favors
for a sweet little girl's birthday...
I designed them to coordinate with her invitation...
isn't she a cutie?!
I decided to focus on the flag bunting...
That's always such a festive part of a party...don't you think?
Banners/bunting have come a long way from the plastic thingies that I remember...
Now they come in fabric and gorgeous paper...
I think my favorite is this party from Kate Landers...

Happy Flag Day!

Mermaid Cookie Pops

First, can I just say how much I love being home...
hautefavesdeux:
Yesterday I was busier than a bee on a flower bush
getting 10 dozen cookies packaged and out the door...
I can rest easy now...I only have Mickey Mouse's and preppy whales on my agenda...
These pretties were made to be cupcake toppers for a mermaid party...
Don't you just love the colors...
They were designed to coordinate with this precious Anders Ruff invitation...
I can't wait to see the pictures...
Cheers to a happy Wednesday!

Seussisms

It is finally here...
My very last day of employment...
My very, very last day of school...
And I thought it would be quite appropriate to wrap it up with Dr. Seuss...
after all, I was a reading teacher...
I never fully realized all the wisdom that was in a Dr. Seuss book...

But the most appropriate today comes from "Oh the Places You'll Go"...

I can't wait to see all the places I'll go...
I'm off on my way!

Last Day Of School and Apple Cookies

I N-E-V-E-R thought today would get here...
The last day of school (with students)...
So of course it is most appropriate to share apple cookies
that Goosie Girl wanted me to make for her teachers...
It's kind of bittersweet to think that apples
won't be one of my accessories anymore...
but I know that I'll have way more fun designing them for others...
So I'm off to get ready for my last day of teaching...
